Disappointment-His appointment

Wow!  My sister just sent me this cute little poem and I love it, I wanted to share.  I feel like it has been so true of my life- the things that seem so disappointing have grown me closer to Him!  I am so thankful now for all the disappointments I have had in interviews and job applications because it has allowed me to watch sweet baby Alexis these past 3 months.  I have absolutely loved and been blessed by that experience, it has softened my heart in a lot of ways and opened my eyes- in a tiny capacity- to the love God must feel for each one of us!  We were all once such a precious and tiny little thing, full of joy and innocence.  Those disappointments were His appointment to where I will be these next several months as well.. with an internship in Water Resources engineering in the area and then a fall internship doing engineering with Engineering Ministries International (EMI), August- December!  Wow- this has all happened and solidified so quickly.  Now He will be leading me to an overseas missions trip to use engineering design to bless those who are less fortunate and leading me through creating a support team.  All because of something that seemed "disappointing"... but was really "His appointment" that he was growing me towards!

Thanks God! :)

Disappointment - His appointment,
Change one letter, then I see
That the thwarting of my purpose
Is God's better choice for me.

His appointment must be blessing
Though it may come in disguise
For the end from the beginning,
Open to His wisdom lies.

Disappointment - His appointment
Whose? The Lord's who loves best.
Understands and knows me fully,
Who my faith and love would test.

For like loving, earthy parent
He rejoices when He knows
That His child accepts unquestioned
All that from His wisdom flows.

Disappointment - His appointment
No good thing will he withhold
From denials oft we gather
Treasures from His love untold.

Well, He knows each broken purpose
Leads to fuller deeper trust
And the end of all His dealings
Proves our God is wise and just.

Disappointment - His appointment
Lord I take it then as such,
Like the clay in hands of potter
Yielding wholly to Thy touch

All my life's plan is Thy molding Not one single choice be mine Let me answer unrepining, Father not my will but Thine.
